| "Emma
Gene", both female and male genders are represented in the play on the word, imaging. The cloth images that I produce make a more personal statement than my former doll designs. They speak of the way I look at life and my love of words. They are no longer dolls. They are images of particular subjects. Each "Emma Gene" has a basic theme and the finished piece is my own personal image of what I perceive that subject to be. I invite the viewer to participate in and continue on with the story of the imaging of the chosen subject. Some are pretty, some are fanciful, some are bizarre but they are all deeply personal to me. They all carry a part of me with them. Even when Im doing a second or third image of the same theme they are each different. They may be made from the same materials but they all have a different "soul." |
